SE1 United was set up in 2003 by nine young people from Lambeth and Southwark. They wanted to set up an organisation where young people in the area could have a say in how they spend their free time and increase their educational and employment opportunities in the face of the social and economic challenges young people from all cultural backgrounds in Lambeth and Southwark face on a daily basis. SE1 United has reached over 10,000 vulnerable young people (aged 10-21 years) since it was set up, engaging over 1,000 young people each year and we have supported over 40 young people in to Higher Education.
